NAACP Vallejo Branch

About Us

About The NAACP

Established in 1909, the NAACP Vallejo Branch #1081 caters to the communities of Vallejo, Benicia, American Canyon, Napa, Saint Helena, and Angwin, California. As one of the nation’s oldest grassroots civil rights organizations, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is dedicated to serving the community. Our focus includes educating people on voter registration, the significance of civil rights, and housing. We have excelled in collaboration with local, state, and national leaders, working towards advancing the organization by advocating for laws that promote fairness and equality for African Americans.

We advocate, agitate, and litigate for the civil rights due to Black America.
In our cities, schools, companies, and courtrooms, we are the legacy of W.E.B. Du Bois, Ida B. Wells, Thurgood Marshall, and many other giants.

Patricia Hunter, NAACP Vallejo President

Ms. Hunter shares in the vision and philosophy of the NAACP and echoes her sentiments and the gratitude of #1081 for everyone who is committed to advancing the mission of the NAACP for our community and the communities we represent. Ms. Hunter is humbled and hopeful about this next season of the branch’s history and seeks mutual partnership through an invitation to “Join the Journey.”

NAACP Vallejo Branch #1081 General Membership Meetings are virtual and scheduled the last Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM. WE MAKE AN IMPACT

In advocacy, we work to make sure Black voices are heard, demands are met, and Black excellence is amplified. From classrooms and courtrooms to city halls and Congress, our network of members across the country works to secure the social and political power that will end race-based discrimination.

Key Objectives

The NAACP focuses on various key objectives in its fight against racial inequality, including:

Legal Defense Fund

The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF) is a separate entity that focuses on legal advocacy and litigation to advance civil rights. It plays a crucial role in challenging racial discrimination through the courts.
Youth and College Division:
The NAACP’s Youth and College Division engages young people in civil rights activism, education, and leadership development, ensuring that the fight for racial equality continues into the future.
